Social media giant Facebook Inc is planning to rebrand itself with a new name this week, reflecting its focus on building the metaverse
Let’s start with the hot topic abroad, Social media giant Facebook Inc is planning to rebrand itself with a new name this week, reflecting its focus on building the metaverse. The concept of the metaverse is quickly becoming a buzzword in technology and business. But what does it mean? Metaverse is a broad term. It generally refers to shared virtual world environments which people can access via the internet. The new name will be announced during the company’s annual Connect conference on October 28th. The rebrand would likely position the blue Facebook app as one of many products under a parent company overseeing groups like Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and more. Additionally, the rebrand could allow the company to separate its work on the so-called metaverse from all the controversies surrounding its popular social media platforms. (Source: Reuters)
